In the middle of the action at a protest

This image was from a living wage protest in London. I like to get right into the middle of a protest in order to capture images like this one shot on a 24mm wide angle lens, you can almost hear her shouting in the photograph!  I remember as a photojournalism student in Sheffield being in the middle of a poll tax riot and wondering why the photographers from the nation newspapers chose to stand on a wall shooting from the outside in, as the protestors started pushing I found myself knocked off my feet and in danger of being trampled, but sometimes you have to put yourself in that position to get the images that tell the story.
